{"id":5297,"date":"2026-09-08T12:40:18","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T10:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fmaservices.be\/?post_type=vacatures&#038;p=5297"},"modified":"2026-09-08T12:40:18","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T10:40:18","slug":"hse-officer-3rd-shift","status":"publish","type":"vacatures","link":"https:\/\/fmaservices.be\/en\/vacatures\/hse-officer-3rd-shift\/","title":{"rendered":"HSE Officer \u2013 3rd Shift"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>HSE Officer \u2013 3rd Shift<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Belgium<\/p>\n<p><strong>Company:<\/strong> FMA Services<\/p>\n<p><strong>Department:<\/strong> HSE<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment:<\/strong> Industrial construction &#038; pre-commissioning<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shift:<\/strong> 3rd \/ night shift<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired start:<\/strong> October 12, 2026<\/p>\n<h2>About the Position<\/h2>\n<p>We are looking for an experienced <strong>HSE Officer<\/strong> for the night shift to visibly and practically monitor safety during intensive construction activities.<\/p>\n<p>You will be present in the field, supporting supervisors and contractors, and intervening promptly when risks are insufficiently controlled.<\/p>\n<h2>Your Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducting frequent field inspections, safety walks, and observations during the 3rd shift.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with PTW, LMRA, toolbox talks, TRA\/JSA, and site-specific Life Saving Rules.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring high-risk activities such as working at heights, lifting, hot work, confined spaces, and electrical activities.<\/li>\n<li>Coaching supervisors and contractors on safe behavior and ensuring immediate correction of unsafe situations.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting incident, near miss, and unsafe condition reporting and performing initial analyses.<\/li>\n<li>Following up on corrective actions and trends and reporting these to HSE and project management.<\/li>\n<li>Checking housekeeping, barricading, PPE, access routes, and emergency preparedness.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring a clear shift handover with relevant HSE observations and outstanding actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Your Profile<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience as an HSE Officer, Safety Supervisor, or Safety Advisor on petrochemical, chemical, or other high-hazard sites.<\/li>\n<li>Practical knowledge of contractor safety, permit-to-work, and risk assessment in construction.<\/li>\n<li>Strong field presence, communication skills, and the ability to make independent decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with incident investigation and root cause techniques is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to work structurally in a night shift.<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of English; Dutch is a strong asset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Education &#038; experience<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong> Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Safety Science, Prevention, or a technical field<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong> Minimum of 5 years of HSE in industrial construction<\/p>\n<h2>Certificates &#038; site requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>VCA-VOL required or project equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Prevention Advisor Level 2 or an equivalent safety qualification is highly desired.<\/li>\n<li>ATEX awareness and experience with process safety are clear advantages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Core competencies<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Field HSE<\/li>\n<li>Permit to Work<\/li>\n<li>Risk assessment<\/li>\n<li>Incident prevention<\/li>\n<li>Contractor safety<\/li>\n<li>Night shift leadership<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What you can expect<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A technically challenging assignment within a large-scale industrial project environment.<\/li>\n<li>A professional work environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, planning, and collaboration.<\/li>\n<li>Clear responsibilities, short lines of communication, and a direct impact on project progress.<\/li>\n<li>Collaboration with experienced construction, engineering, quality, HSE, and commissioning teams.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to participate in an intensive project acceleration phase with clear milestones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Interested?<\/h2>\n<p>Please provide us with your most recent CV, availability, and relevant certificates.
