For this combination, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer who takes ownership of the entire process: from concept and detail engineering to FAT/SAT, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and delivery. An engineer who dares to make technical choices, can substantiate them, and is only satisfied when an installation under load does what it is supposed to do — every time.

Your impact

  • You are responsible for designing, assessing, preparing, and monitoring electrotechnical installations within petrochemical, chemical, and pharmaceutical environments.
  • You connect engineering with execution and have a direct influence on the safety, availability, and reliability of installations.
  • You provide substantive input, monitor technical integrity, and ensure that the entire project from schematic to commissioning is correct, tested, and properly documented.
  • In greenfield, you contribute to the complete electrical architecture: distribution, redundancy, selectivity, engineering deliverables, and commissioning readiness.
  • In brownfield, you integrate changes into existing infrastructure, with attention to compatibility, production continuity, safety circuits, as-builts, and compliance.

What characterizes you (and why you fit with us)

  • You have a solid foundation in electrical grids and power theory: AC/DC, 1-phase and 3-phase systems, short-circuit currents, fault levels, selectivity/coordination, earthing systems (TN/TT/IT), power factor, and power quality. Harmonics, THD, and EMC are not just theory for you, but real parameters that you control and mitigate.
  • You are familiar with LV and MV distribution (≤1 kV and 6–36 kV) and know how an industrial plant is powered and protected: transformers (oil/dry), busbars/busducts, redundant power supplies, UPS systems, battery systems, and emergency power (EDG). You know what it takes to safely put an installation into service.
  • You work fluently with MCCs and LV/MV switchgear, including incomers, feeders, busbars, interlocking, trip circuits, protection & control, and interfaces with PLC/DCS. You know the difference between AIS and GIS, understand MV/HV protection, and can challenge OEMs during technical reviews, FATs, and SATs. Experience with GIS (SF₆, interlocks, interfaces, safety & testing) is a clear plus.
  • You have professional knowledge of drives and motors: asynchronous, synchronous, PMSM, insulation classes, cooling (IC codes), starting methods, and ATEX requirements. You understand VFD principles, parameterization and tuning, vector control, and ideally DTC (Direct Torque Control). EMC requirements, harmonic mitigation (12-pulse, AFE, filters), drive-PLC-DCS integration, and regenerative drives are familiar to you.
  • You truly understand protection and selectivity. You can substantiate protection and settings: MCB/MCCB/ACB, motor protections, overcurrent/earth fault/differential, selectivity studies, short-circuit calculations, and settings coordination. Arc-flash analysis and risk reduction are part of your professional standard.
  • In addition, you are strong in interposing relays and control circuits: you understand how critical they are in the interface between DCS/PLC/ESD/F&G, MCCs, switchgear, and field equipment. You can design, assess, and test interposing relay circuits (insulation, voltage/current matching, fail-safe logic, trip chains, permissives, interlocks) and you are strong in cause & effect checks, logic troubleshooting, and signal flow verification, especially in brownfield.
  • You don’t have to be an automation engineer, but you can read automation interfaces: DI/DO/AI/AO, marshalling, I/O cards, permissives, and P&ID interpretation. Industrial communication (Profibus/Profinet, Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA) and drive-PLC-DCS integration are familiar to you.
  • You work norm-driven and compliance-minded: IEC 60364, IEC 61439, IEC 61800, IEC 60034, AREI, and ATEX/IECEx form your frame of reference. You design compliant, know where to find information, and can defend decisions to customers, inspections, and audits.
  • You don’t just deliver documents — you deliver an installation that works: SLDs, load lists, cable sizing/derating, routing concepts, layouts, BOMs, datasheets, and work packages. You support FAT/SAT, pre-commissioning, and commissioning, and ensure that test results, redlines, as-built dossiers, and O&M documentation are correct and complete.
  • Safety is in your reflex: ATEX zones, Ex concepts, SIL basics (IEC 61508/61511), LOTO, permit-to-work, and HSE culture are part of your daily way of working.
